new post on passion school

A new post about how I am no longer going to identify as a fruitarian or raw foodist.

Dropping Labels and Dogma.

I feel like people use labels in a way to be elitist and set themselves apart from others. I think when we have to identify to one thing or another we in a way negate all else. I don't mean say your raw foodism or fruitarian stuff but All of it! I was talking to a friend about gender (Which I think is fluid) and how identifying one way or another so tightly (she has been more masculine identified for a few years and decided to grow her hair which is scary for her because of long hair being associated with femininity) is to not embrace balance. I am totally feminine and am with a guy but I know I have very "masculine" gender attributes to my personality and perspective and I also feel being a woman is quite empowering which is why so many cultures there is oppression for women, it's a fear of that power of creation and intuition we have. It all feels so excessive- she should be able to grow her hair and still feel herself in the ways she is gender identified as masculine- it's just hair. We are all on a path and experiencing our own process. I am inspired by your diet and adopt some of it, perhaps something else is valuable to me and my focus is elsewhere. It doesn't make me less and it doesn't make you less say that your focus is not on advocating for disabled people or whatever the other "trip" is.
The whole dogma and if you are not doing this than you are not good enough to be considered a true vegan or "insert whatever" is no different than the whole christian republican us and them trip. What the hell is going on in our culture that we need to do that? It's kind of weird but I know what you mean and I see it everywhere in all different sorts of genres of humanity.

I really enjoyed reading this post. It took me awhile to get to this point, but I don't really care much about labels regarding sexuality/gender/veg*n/whatever. Everything is always changing/fluctuating, and that's just fine. Do what you want and what you believe in and what feels best. Period. Situations change, bodies change, minds change...
